How Do You Choose the Right Data List for your Campaign?

How Do You Choose the Right Data List for your Campaign?

Our Steve hosted a successful seminar last week as part of Wakefield Business Week on the subject of ‘Using a Data List Effectively as part of a Digital Marketing Strategy’. The presentation elicited many enquiries and queries and we were reminded that when it comes to Data Lists there is a definite ‘top 3’ of frequently asked questions.

So, now that the dust has settled on our colossal office move (my sudden need to clean may have abated a little!), I thought it time to review the basics of purchasing marketing data lists.

What our Customers Want to Know about Marketing Data Lists

There are a lot of questions in the back of a customer’s mind when considering a Marketing Data List Purchase:

  • Am I being given objective advice?
  • Is the information trustworthy?
  • Will I be marked as a spammer?

They are all entirely reasonable if not crucial questions that any business owner worth their salt would ask.

The Data Bubble approach to finding your required data differs slightly from the norm, which is why we are so successful at what we do (Steve, put that trumpet down!).

Where does your data come from?

We are an independent data broker. We are always on hand to help you find the perfect list for your requirements but we won’t ever tell you what to do – no one knows your business like you do.

We will identify with you your list requirements, following our tried and tested 5 Step Data Bubble Process

As we are an independent data supplier, we can specifically source your required data from a pool of trusted data list owners.

There are no tie-ins with Data Bubble – we work only for our customers and not for any list owners.

All this means we can objectively supply specific, targeted data for each individual campaign.

Data Selections

We have a large selection of data preferences to tailor to each campaign both in B2B and B2C. For instance, we can source business data (B2B) by:

  • Industry Type – Over 2,500 listed from Abattoirs to Zoos!
  • Site Type – Head Offices, Branches and Single Sites
  • Number of Employees – On a national level or single sites
  • Turnover
  • Contact job role – From senior decision maker through various roles
  • Postcode Area – Not only by postcode but also by radius, allowing you to choose the scope of your reach.
  • Business age

Education Data – Parents data comes with numerous selections including:

  • Age of child
  • Locations
  • Homeowner status
  • Income
  • Number of Children

There are lots of other selections available, so what we say when asked is “give us your ideal requirements and we’ll tell you what your options are”. We’ll then tell you what’s available. PLUS if we think you’re looking for something that either doesn’t exist or if you’re looking to run a campaign that we know from experience brings with it success risks, we’ll tell you. In short, we’re honest to the extent that if it costs us business, so be it – our reputation AND yours is what matters most.

What are TPS and CTPS?

This stands for Telephone Preference Service and Corporate Telephone Preference Service. People register with the service that they do NOT wish to receive unsolicited phone calls.

It is extremely important to take heed of this. Any company that contacts a party that is on the TPS and CTPS register and hasn’t received specific permission from that party to do so, maybe liable for a fine of £6,500. A hefty mistake to make! Serious and / or repeated abuse can bring even higher fines, amongst other sanctions. The ICO offer advice in this respect.

At Data Bubble, all the data we supply for telemarketing purposes is screened against the TPS and CTPS registers to ensure our customers are compliant.
